ANTICIPATION BUILDS AS FINAL PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY FOR INAUGURAL GRAND PRIX OF KYRGYZSTAN

Final preparations are underway for the inaugural Grand Prix in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, taking place from July 31 to August 2, with the Advance Program outlining the event’s proceedings now published. Representatives from Kyrgyzstan were handed the F1H2O flag at the conclusion of the latest Grand Prix in Cagliari, symbolically marking the handover of the Championship’s hosting responsibilities.

To celebrate the arrival of the F1H2O World Championship in Central Asia for the first time, the Grand Prix flag is being paraded around the country by notable local figures and celebrities, building anticipation for this historic event. The flag’s tour has showcased Kyrgyzstan’s stunning natural beauty and breathtaking landscapes, which will be on full display during the Grand Prix on the spectacular shores of Lake Issyk-Kul.

Meanwhile, local organizers and dedicated volunteers have spent recent weeks cleaning the lake’s shores and removing litter. In addition, the lake itself is being cleared of plastic waste and underwater debris. A specialized diving team cleaned the lakebed around the race circuit during a dedicated environmental campaign held from June 13 to 15. These efforts will ensure that the full natural beauty of Issyk-Kul is on display during the Grand Prix, while the pristine waters will also contribute to safer racing conditions.

On land, preparations are also underway for the various cultural and musical events that will accompany the Grand Prix, including a concert that will conclude the race weekend. These activities are set to showcase Kyrgyzstan’s rich and largely undiscovered cultural heritage to F1H2O’s global audience, once again demonstrating the power of sport to connect people and build bridges between cultures around the world.

With the country abuzz from the flag’s tour, the environmental clean-up initiatives, and the construction of stages for the weekend’s festivities, anticipation across Kyrgyzstan is growing rapidly. Even more excitement surrounds the attendance of numerous distinguished guests, including international dignitaries and His Excellency Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, who is expected to officially inaugurate the racing during Saturday’s Sprint Races.
