Dr. Ismail Shaker, President of Egyptian Equestrian Federation, confirmed comeback of Egyptian equestrian horses to participate again on international level for first time after a 20-year ban due to veterinary conditions.
The Egyptian team will participate in the Qatar International Equestrian Championships 2025. on January 8.
Mr. Shaker added in press statement: “Egypt’s leader, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, has made great efforts to lift veterinary ban on national horses and return to participate again in international tournament, especially since Egypt used to participate in foreign competitions with horses residing outside the country during past years.
Hadeel El-Haddad, a member of Board of Directors of Egyptian Equestrian Federation, headed a delegation of 25 Knights and 27 horses to Capital of Qatar, Doha, to participate in Al Shaqab International Equestrian Tournament.
Egyptian delegation that will represent Egypt in Al Shaqab International Tournament in Qatar with 25 Knights, including a number of high quality competitors in juniors and adults.
The Egyptian equestrian delegation is scheduled to head over two days, as 27 horses will travel to Qatar tomorrow and Sunday, then 25 knights will travel on Monday to represent Egypt on international tournament in Qatar.
In 20 years, Egypt is participating with its horses in international competitions abroad under the “bubble” system after lifting veterinary ban on it thanks to the great efforts of Egypt represented by General Authority for Veterinary Services and Egyptian Equestrian Federation headed by Dr. Ismail Shaker.
For his part, Mohamed Abdel Moneim, President of Nobles Equestrian Club, stated that during the era of Dr. Ismail Shaker, equestrian going on right way, and I expect more achievements in during preparation for 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles (USA).
