IRON LYNX BRACES FOR SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS ROLLERCOASTER

Iron Lynx is set for its second back-to-back race of the year as it returns to the track for Round 2 of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Competing at the mighty Spa-Francorchamps, the team is looking to secure its first points of 2026 after a promising opener in Imola didn’t deliver the desired results.

Coming into the weekend, the team will again be fielding the 61 and 79 cars for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, with the latter sporting a special livery. As a tribute to the strategic partnership between Iron Lynx and Flow Traders, and to celebrate the closest race to home for Dutchman Lin Hodenius, the #79 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 will turn into a fiery hot machine, featuring bright red flames on a matte black base.

Johannes Zelger and Matteo Cressoni will rejoin Hodenius. Zelger, who made his FIA WEC debut at Imola, left a strong impression with his pace and improvement, and with room for further progress, the team is looking to build on those gains.

The 61 car will again feature Martin Berry, Rui Andrade and home hero Maxime Martin, who will be chasing the top-5 finish that slipped away in Imola due to a technical mishap.

A staple of FIA WEC racing — its history and appeal known worldwide — Spa-Francorchamps is also famous for the challenges drivers face there. The driving aspect is paramount on a 7-kilometre rollercoaster featuring legendary corners, but the environmental factor is well known to carry significant weight. Forecasts are leaning towards the sunny side for Qualifying and Race Day which, as is traditional for the Belgian 6-hour race, will take place on Saturday. Still, a fair degree of variability is to be expected.

A record crowd is anticipated for the weekend, in what has become an increasingly popular event in terms of fan support and attendance. After launching its new FIA WEC PLUS portal featuring live timing and streaming, fans will also be able to follow the race with a brand-new mobile app.
