Matthias Walkner will compete at Rally-Raid Portugal, marking his return to competition in the World Rally-Raid Championship after recovering from a serious injury.
The former Dakar Rally winner will compete on four wheels instead of a bike, racing a Can-Am Maverick X3 XRS Turbo RR in the SSV category.
Walkner won the Dakar Rally in 2018 and is a two-time Rally-Raid World Champion. His entry into Rally-Raid Portugal marks his first participation in W2RC competition since the injury that ended his chances of returning to top-level motorcycle racing.
