Team Qatar GT Secures Strong Start to European Le Mans Series Season

Team Qatar GT delivered a competitive performance in Round 1 of the European Le Mans Series at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, finishing fourth in the LMGT3 category.

The team demonstrated strong pace from the outset, impressing during the official Prologue and free practice sessions. This performance translated into a pole position during Saturday’s qualifying session, securing a front-row start for the race.

In a highly competitive and challenging race, the team maintained consistent performance throughout, ultimately crossing the line in fourth place in the LMGT3 category against a strong field of international competitors.

Highlighting the weekend, Qatari driver Abdulla Al-Khelaifi was awarded the “Most Valuable Driver” honor in the LMGT3 category, recognizing his outstanding performance.

Competing in the LMGT3 category in collaboration with Iron Lynx, the team featured a strong driver lineup of Abdulla Al-Khelaifi, Julian Hanses, and Adam Christodoulou.

This result marks a promising start to the 2026 season and reflects the team’s solid preparation and determination to compete at the highest level of endurance racing.

The 2026 European Le Mans Series calendar includes six rounds across Europe:

Barcelona, Spain – April 10–12
Paul Ricard, France – May 3
Imola, Italy – July 5
Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium – August 23
Silverstone, United Kingdom – September 13
Portimao, Portugal – October 10
